Hi FlashNewz Readers
This issue of FlashNewz is dedicated to all of you out
there that are looking to push Flash beyond just the visual aspect and want to
turn your flash applications into database driven works of art.
I've found a few really good tutorials that will show you how to make flash connect
with an outside database using both
ASP and PHP. I know that every developer has their own flavor
of coding so I made sure to add more than just one.
Last week we had some problems with the sites that were listed (broken links).
Actually, none of the links were broken. I believe that since the traffic was
so mind boggling it hindered their servers for the day. If you want to take
a look again check last week's
issue and try the links again. They should all be in working order and
ready to view.
From reader feedback last week we noticed that we are having
problems with how the newsletter looks in the Mac mail program. We have redesigned
the newsletter to look and feel more like the index
page and have hopefully corrected all of the problems associated with
the Mac mail program. Thanks for the heads up Mac users!
We hope you enjoy this weeks issue of FlashNewz.
Send us your feedback!
Thanks,
John Paul
Now here is a good example
of how to make Flash different.
These fellows have done an excellent job on their menu system. I really like
how it's separate from the content and it's super easy to understand.
They even added dots to show you where you've you been so you're not sifting through
the site now knowing where you've been. They have done an excellent job using
easing menus.
The scroll menus are awesome as well. I don't think I've ever seen scroll menus
quite like these. You just click and you're onto the next page. Very interesting
concept.
This site is very clean, easy to navigate, easy to read and shows off their
talents without bogging your computer down to its knees.
After viewing this site there are only a few minor things that I would change,
but it all comes down to opinion. They are currently working on their Version
2.0. I look forward to seeing what's behind the curtain.
